Ricardo’s practice is focused on IP litigation and licensing, copyright and trademark prosecution and enforcement. Ricardo has been working in the field of Industrial Property since 1984 and, as a lawyer, since 1992.
Ricardo was President of ABAPI – Brazilian Association of Industrial Property Agents from 2016 to 2019, when he strongly advocated for the regulation of the profession of industrial property agent and for the re-affiliation of ABAPI to FICPI – Fédération Internationale des Conseils en Propriété Intellectuelle. In hearings at the Brazilian Congress, he defended the administrative and financial autonomy of the INPI – National Institute of Industrial Property and debated the entry into force, in Brazil, of the Madrid Protocol and its effects on the protection of trademarks in the country. Former Chairperson of INTA Latin America & Caribbean ACEC Anti-Counterfeiting and Enforcement Committee; Member of Honor of ABPI – Brazilian Association of Intellectual Property. Currently member of INTA Bulletins Committee.
